We help commercial businesses achieve economic and strategic success. That’s been our aim for nearly 80 years.
We understand that there are always alternatives. So unless we can add more value or deliver a better service than our competitors, our clients will go elsewhere. We are keen to do a better job than the alternatives.
Doing better means being different. And our difference comes from …
- spotting which industries and markets are poorly served by legal advisers and, if possible, moving into them
- understanding the different types of companies that operate in these sectors and their different legal and service needs
- understanding the personalities and talent that we have and seeing where the best matches lie
- matching the right individuals to the task
- asking clients to define the value they want us to add
The story so far:
Today the firm has 150 fee earners. We operate from offices in the City of London, Manchester, Madrid and Mexico City. We provide clients with either a full legal advice service or with one or more of a number of specialist legal services.
We are best known for our work in the property and insurance industries. Our name is increasingly associated with an ability to resolve commercial disputes. Davies Arnold Cooper appears high up the independent league tables for our work in product liability, health and safety, and construction.
It was our work in the insurance and re-insurance markets that led us to open an office in Madrid in 1989. We are now recognised as the leading insurance specialist in Spain where we advise most of the domestic and international insurance companies.
Our success in Spain, where we now offer clients a full legal advice service, led us to open an office in Mexico City in 2003.
The next chapter:
We are keen to strengthen, still further, our ability to provide sound and practical advice to the property and insurance industries and to advise on any commercial dispute in our traditional areas of product liability, health and safety, and construction.
Increasingly we are also advising on disputes arising from competition matters, environmental concerns, and sports injuries. We have an expanding employment group operating from our London, Manchester and Madrid offices.
These are the areas which are of concern to our clients.
They are also categories which are monitored by the independent legal guides and every year we want to see our name appear higher up in the league tables. It not only does wonders for internal morale but it helps us recruit good staff and be even better positioned to add value to our clients’ businesses.
