Our real estate lawyers are highly regarded for their commercial, residential and mixed-use development expertise, incorporating all sustainability, regeneration, environmental and planning issues and regulations. We are specialists in real estate investment, finance and asset management and have a very strong dispute resolution group. We have particular expertise in the corporate and tax structuring of real estate transactions.

The real estate practice regularly advises on cross-border property transactions, particularly involving Europe and Latin America.

Our experience

Our real estate lawyers are currently advising an investment vehicle sponsored by Arab Investments on the high profile development of the 62-storey Pinnacle, Bishopsgate. When complete, the Pinnacle will be the City of London's tallest building. We are advising on the financing, construction, planning and property aspects of the development.

We work for five of the ten largest residential developers in the UK: Crest Nicholson, Persimmon, Barratt Homes, Galliford Try and Countryside.

We advised Anglo Irish Assurance on the acquisition of Whitgift Trust, which owns the Whitgift Shopping Centre in Croydon. The deal was worth in excess of £220m.

We advised Land Securities on the £76.5 million freehold sale of The Gate in Newcastle to Propinvest. The Gate is a 208,000 sq ft leisure complex.
