July 20th 2004 - Another common sense ruling in UK Competition case
Mr Yeheskel Arkin, owner of BCL which ceased trading in May 1992, alleged that the defendants instigated a price war with the intention of bringing about the collapse of BCL. He asked the court to award damages including exemplary damages of over US$160m.  The specialist competition team at City law firm Davies Arnold Cooper,  who acted for four of the six defendants (as well as a number of part 20 defendants), believes the decision establishes new and important precedents for claims for damages arising out of allegedly anti-competitive behaviour.

July 19th 2004 - Problems with new EU Competition Policy

David Wilson Homes won an appeal to continue to build fourteen houses, worth £300,000 to £400,000 each on a plot of land in Telford. The decision, made in the Court of Appeal on 28 June, was argued by specialist dispute resolution law firm Davies Arnold Cooper.

May 26th 2004 - Raft of new appointments at Davies Arnold Cooper
City law firm Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) has announced the appointment of an associate partner to its London practice and two associates to its Madrid practice.
