Chris lectures and writes articles on the topic and is author of an e-book entitled 'Commonhold; a complete guide to commonhold procedures and structures' published by Legalease on-line. Chris has recently written the commonhold chapter for the Conveyancing Handbook published by the Law Society and is writing the commonhold division for the Butterworths Property Law Service. He is also the Home Builders Federation representative on the government working party reviewing the commonhold legislation.
Leading the field
Davies Arnold Cooper is advising on the first major development in England to include commonhold.
We are advising Crest Nicholson Developments Limited in its role as lead developer of the £500m development of Oakgrove Millennium Community in Milton Keynes. The scheme will provide 2,300 new homes including 30% affordable housing, two schools, a landscaped wildlife corridor, a multi-purpose health centre, shops and a commercial centre.
The development is an example of best practice for physical and social sustainability. Chris Tinker, Managing Director of Crest Nicholson Projects commented:
"Davies Arnold Cooper's advice on the management structure and all aspects of the development have been vital to helping us make this project a reality".
