Dispute resolution

Why come to us:

Because of our background as a litigation practice, which goes back to 1927, we are regularly involved and vastly experienced in resolving every type of dispute that might threaten your business. Whether your dispute is related to a commercial or employment issue, environmental, health and safety, insurance, commercial fraud, personal injury, professional negligence, property, retail, artsport, transport or travel, or to civil, arbitral, regulatory or criminal proceedings, we have the people and the skills to resolve your dispute.

How we can help:

Our dispute resolution lawyers start by making sure they understand the financial and commercial implications of the dispute and then advise you on the best course of action. Their advice and assistance covers every possible means of resolving the dispute: negotiated settlement, mediation and/or through arbitration.  And if the only means of resolving the dispute is through the courts (litigation), you can be sure that you will have a tough and experienced dispute resolution team behind you. If the dispute is public, or likely to become public knowledge, we work with you and your communications advisers to make sure that the right responses are given by the right people at the right time.

What we've done:

Our dispute resolution lawyers' experience covers every type and size of dispute from multi-million pound construction contracts and substantial family feuds to regulatory investigations by the competition authorities, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Services Authority. Where we have helped clients to manage their press response we can demonstrate that however bad the problem and however badly the share prices were hit, the shares recovered faster and often came back stronger because the issues were well handled.
