Why come to us:
Davies Arnold Cooper's real estate practice specialises in residential development and regeneration. The group is driven by leading planning, environmental, financing and commercial lawyers with a strong track record advising on residential development and major regeneration projects. Clients include Crest Nicholson, Persimmon and David Wilson Homes.
How we can help:
Our residential development lawyers have significant experience acting for leading residential developers and work closely with our dedicated planning and construction teams to offer expert advice and guidance throughout the development process. Our advice includes:
- Negotiation of planning permissions and planning agreements
- Drafting and negotiation of complex conditional purchase agreements, options and collaboration agreements
- The appointment of consultants and negotiation of main build contracts particularly in the context of mixed use development
- Tax structuring of deals with particular reference to SDLT and VAT planning
- Environmental advice both in terms of guiding residential developers through the maze of regulation and dealing with environmental disputes
What we’ve done:
We recently acted for Crest Nicholson Developments Limited in its role as lead developer of the ground-breaking £500m development of Oakgrove Millennium Community in Milton Keynes. The project is the first major development to include commonhold and is a example of best practice for physical and social sustainability.
We are currently advising a leading house builder on a 175 hectare mixed use urban regeneration project consisting of virtually all brown field regeneration. The project includes an extensive one-off site decontamination and four independent section 106 agreements tied to the overall regeneration plan.
We advised Crest Nicholson on its participation in a mixed use regeneration project in the south west of England in partnership with Grosvenor. The redevelopment is on a 35 hectare brown field site and incorporated significant traffic remodelling and rapid transport connection.
We advised a leading house builder on the regeneration of a Grade II listed college as luxury apartments involving complex security arrangements to secure overage and other related payments.
