Davies Arnold Cooper's construction lawyers provide a comprehensive range of specialist transactional services to the construction and real estate industries, advising residential and commercial developers as well as contractors, consultants and project funders. Exciting times lie ahead for the UK construction sector and, along with our real estate colleagues, we continue to advise clients on issues and opportunities, particularly within the Thames Gateway and Lower Lea Valley region.
Construction procurement requirements have increased considerably over the last few years as the types of projects being undertaken require a greater degree of sophistication. In particular, there are an increasing number of mixed use developments and projects where local infrastructure such as schools and community services are being provided alongside the commercial elements of the deal.
With our leading planning, real estate and construction expertise, we are well placed to assist with all construction issues from feasibility study to project completion, whatever the sector.
Recent examples of our work include advising:
- Arab Investments on the construction aspects of its high profile development, the Pinnacle. When complete, it will be London's tallest building with more than 946,500 square feet of office space.
- Crest Nicholson Developments on a mixed-use development with the Portsmouth Naval Dockyard Trust incorporating 569 residential units and a 22-storey tower constructed around a multi-storey carpark.
- City Road Investments Limited on the development of the Grade II Listed Lowndes House on City Road, London EC1 as a 395-bedroom Travelodge, one of the largest new build hotel projects in London over the past 30 years
- Contractors within the preferred bidder consortia for Hackney and Kent BSF schemes and advising in relation to a number of other schemes currently at ITCD stage.
- Urban Solutions on the procurement and development of a 30-storey mixed use scheme in Cardiff City centre which, once completed, will be the tallest building in Wales.
