Iftikhar qualified in 2004 and joined Davies Arnold Cooper in March 2008 as a solicitor in the firm's insurance and reinsurance team. Before that he was a solicitor in the insurance and reinsurance group at London law firm, Lawrence Graham.

Iftikhar specialises in insurance and reinsurance disputes involving arbitration, litigation and/or mediation, both in London and internationally. He advises on coverage, recoveries, aggregation, follows settlements, avoidance, inspections and commutations.

He has considerable experience of Scandinavian WCA and PA excess of loss reinsurance contracts across Sweden, Denmark and Norway; he has advised English reinsurers and the following market on balances claimed under XL Death/Disability/Dismemberment policy in relation to the TWA 800 and US Air Flight 427 disasters; he has extensive experience of acting for London Market insurers (in run-off) against overseas reinsurers for balances due under quota share reinsurance contracts; and experience of enforcing Commercial Court Judgments and Arbitration Awards obtained in London against reinsurers based in Bulgaria, Venezuela, Serbia and Uruguay.
