Colin was employed in Local Government for almost twenty years where he gained extensive experience of Town and Country Planning and Highways matters.  He has considerable experience of advising on and handling planning applications for development proposals, the variation of planning conditions, Certificates of Lawful Use, planning and enforcement appeals and the co-ordination of public local inquiries. He has also been involved in several applications for Judicial Review of planning decisions through the High Court and the Court of Appeal.

Colin has negotiated the completion of a wide variety of planning and highway agreements. He also advises on and negotiated compensation claims arising from compulsory purchase orders and works by statutory undertakers. He has extensive experience of the stopping-up, diversion and creation of public rights of way for developers and private clients. Colin undertakes planning and development appraisals and has advised on matters relating to Waste Management, Commons, drainage and licensing laws.

Colin has co-ordinated the drafting, preparation and submission of a number of Environmental Statements in support of applications for planning permission.
