Manuel graduated in law at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He prepared for the public exam of the Public Body of Notaries for three years and then he started his professional career at the in-house legal department of Prosegur Compañía de Seguridad S.A. (1989 –1991).  In 1991 he joined the firm Ramón y Cajal Abogados where he was a partner until he joined Davies Arnold Cooper where he holds the position of partner.

Manuel is a specialist in corporate and stock exchange law. He has taught courses of practice for students in their last year of their law degree at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is a secretary of the board of directors of a number of companies, most of them connected with the stock market.
