Stephen is the Managing Partner of Davies Arnold Cooper's Manchester office, where he also heads the Commercial Insurance Group. His experience includes a wide range of complex insurance litigation matters including construction and building claims, insurance policy coverage disputes, fraud claims and environmental work. 

Stephen has acted in professional indemnity matters for engineers, architects, project managers and surveyors.  On environmental issues, he has acted on all aspects of civil liabiity for damage to riparian property and fisheries and on multi-party actions for environmental damage/impairment including claims by regulatory bodies.  He also advises on environmental risk management.  Stephen is also an accredited mediator and is experienced in resolving matters commercially with a range of dispute resolution techniques.

He  has presented seminars on a range of topics, particularly to the insurance industry, including insurance law, policy coverage, fraudulent theft claims, property damage, subsidence claims, and environmental liability.
